DALLAS – A man died Wednesday night after he deliberately stepped in front of a southbound DART train on the elevated tracks at the Southwestern Medical District Parkland Station.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Mark Ball said witnesses told investigators that the man was standing behind a pole and stepped out just as the train exited the station.

It occurred at about 7:48 p.m. The Dallas County Medical Examiner declared the man dead the scene.

He had no identification on him, Ball said.

Shuttle buses took customers between Market Center and Inwood/Love Field stations after the incident.
