SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Authorities have arrested a 12-year-old Briscoe Middle School student for allegedly calling in a bomb threat.
Early Wednesday morning Northside ISD police took swift action in response to the possible threat to Briscoe Middle School. They conducted a bomb sweep of the campus buildings located at 4265 Lone Star Parkway in Alamo Ranch, but they came up empty.
What they did find is a trail to a seventh-grader who admitted it was she who placed the call. She also admitted the call was a hoax.
She was quickly arrested at the principal's office and is now facing a felony charge.
Her detention hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday.
The incident happened so early in the morning that an evacuation was not necessary. However, NISD administrators said parents were notified via the robo-call system.
