Self magazine to close print edition in February

Self, a women's workout and health magazine owned by Condé Nast, will shut down its print edition after the February issue next year.

About 20 jobs will be cut as a result, but Condé Nast is looking to possibly hire them in other positions in the company, the magazine publisher said Thursday. The magazine's website, Self.com, will continue to publish stories. The magazine's editor, Joyce Chang, will leave the company.

In the coming weeks, Condé Nast also plans to cut about 30 other jobs company-wide -- about 1% of the total headcount -- as more roles are assigned to digital, video and other growth areas.

Self has been trimming its pages since last year and merged its advertising team with Glamour’s business division, according to WWD, which first reported about the changes at Self and Condé Nast.
