COLUMBUS - McDonald's is testing a new version of its infamous Big Mac and hoping fans of Sriracha will be lovin' it.
The fast-food chain announced Monday that it's testing the Sriracha Big Mac in 126 restaurants in Ohio, WCMH-TV reports.
Sriracha, a spicy sauce made with red chilis, will be added to the signature Big Mac sauce. Customers will also be able to get the Sriracha Big Mac sauce on the side in case they want to dip fries or chicken nuggets in it.
For the past few years, Sriracha has been touted as a go-to condiment for millenials and the spicy burger may be an attempt to get young people in the door, according to MarketWatch . Only one in five millenials have tried a Big Mac, according to a McDonald's memo, which was passed among operators earlier this year, MarketWatch reported.
The burger was previously tested in locations in Los Angeles, San Diego and Seattle earlier this summer. The company may roll the burger out nationwide depending on how the test goes, according to McDonald's.
