The Houston Texans have used one of their 30 official draft prospect visits with Texas punter Michael Dickson, per numerous sources. The meeting took place on Friday, the day before the team’s local pro day.

Dickson is the rare punting prospect who merits legit draft consideration. In fact, he’s coming off what Pro Football Focus notesis the best season ever by a collegiate punter.

The reigning Ray Guy Award winner is an Australian native who can utilize either the rugby-style or traditional punting form.

The Texans do have Shane Lechler, arguably the greatest punter in NFL history, still on the roster. However, Lechler is on a one-year contract and turns 42 in August. If they do covet Dickson, it might take as early as one of the team’s three third-round picks.
