HPD: Man on life support after accidental shooting at gas station

The Houston Police Department said the victim and two others were sitting in a vehicle at a Valero playing with a gun. The person who shot the victim said it was an accident.

HOUSTON — A man was shot in the head after he and two others were playing with a gun early Sunday morning, according to police.

The Houston Police Department said the three were sitting in a vehicle at a Valero near Southmore Blvd and Almeda Road when the shooting happened.

The person who shot the victim said it was an accident, according to police.

He was transported to Ben Taub Hospital and is on life support.

No charges have been filed at this time. Detectives said the case will be sent to a grand jury.
