HPD: Man shot after allegedly sending threatening messages to another man

Police said the victim had allegedly sent a threatening text to a male. The victim then showed up at the location and fired several shots at the male, according to authorities.

HOUSTON - Police are investigating an incident where a man was shot after he allegedly made threats to another male.

The Houston Police Department said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday near John Alber Road and Woodcourt St.

Homicide said one of the two males had sent a threatening text to the other male. The male then showed up at the location and the two got into an altercation.. Police said the victim fired several shots towards the other male. The two got into a tussle and the male was able to get the gun from the victim and shoot him with his own weapon.

The victim was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital.

Police said the two knew each other previously but are unclear why they were arguing.

The male is cooperating with police and providing information on what happened.

At this time no charges have been filed.
