The forums on this site is a community of savvy shoppers that share their money saving tips. Check out the conversation started by one of our own volunteers, Brandi M, asking "If you could give one piece of advice to a new couponer, what would it be?"

Brandi M says I would say, start slow. I was SO excited when I was first learning and tried to get all the deals and learn all the stores. I was overwhelmed and burnt out before I knew it. When I finally allowed myself to slow down and learn one technique/store at a time before I moved on it was SO much easier, and a lot less time consuming!

Bethetay says There is always another deal coming, it's ok to miss one once in awhile!

Jessica says Plan your menu according to the sales ad. In the beginning this was hard because I just didn't feel like having what was on sale but once I saw the savings I quickly changed my mind.

Shanrem06 says Learn your policies for Price Matching and coupons both. I PM at Walmart all the time with very few issues and use coupons at the same time. I simply give my cashier the heads up that I am using coupons and PMing, and they say ok let's do it

Amber says You don't need to buy something just because you have a coupon for it!
