HOUSTON - The Houston International Festival (HIF) is excited to announce “Village Green," a designated area of upper Sam Houston Park featuring recycled crafts and locally produced goods and concessions.

This year's festival, spotlighting the culture of Argentina, will run through the weekends of April 21-22 and April 28-29 from 11:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. It takes place in the streets, parks and plazas around Houston’s City Hall, 800 Bagby Street, Houston, TX 77056.

One of Houston’s largest outdoor festivals, the Houston International Festival (often referred to as iFest) appeals to art and music enthusiasts interested in cultural programs, visual arts exhibits and live music. With the need to help keep Houston Green, this year’s green initiative is a golden opportunity to showcase Houston’s eco-friendly community and artists, while promoting sustainable living. The Houston International Festival invites Houstonians to promote green living by applying as a vendor.

A total of 10 Green Artists and/or organizations (per weekend) will have a booth in the new "Village Green" attraction located in Upper Sam Houston Park, offering an opportunity for exposure to tens of thousands of festival patrons each day.

Festival markets are not limited to just the “green scene,” but for music lovers and stay-cationers, it will offer over 150 international markets with special focus on fine arts and fine crafts, Afro-Carribean and Asian inspired areas, Latin and French quarters. All of the international markets will be available both weekends and some will include live demonstrations by international artisans and daily fashion shows inspired by all of the regions.

Visit ifest.org for more information or how you can become a part of this year’s green initiative as a participating vendor.
