Special appearances, live music at second weekend of International Fest

The 2012 Houston International Festival offers an entertainment lineup that ranges from rock to reggae and ballet to tango. There's someone playing music or dancing at every turn, and something for every musical taste. Ifest continues next weekend in downtown Houston.

HOUSTON—The second weekend of the Houston International Festival spotlighting Argentina continues April 28-April 29 with special appearances and musical acts.

Rockets forward Chandler Parsons and NBA legend Darryl Dawkins will make appearances alongside the Rockets Power Dancers at the mobile basketball playground.

Musical acts for the weekend include WAR, Steel Pulse, the Texas Tornados, Seun Kuti and SOJA.

The Green Mountain Energy Kids World includes craft projects and activities from local non-profit groups.

Food will be provided by Original Marini’s Empanada House, Café Japon, Phoenicia Specialty foods, Tango & Malbec, Kim Son and more.

The festival is located in Sam Houston Park and Tranquility Park from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. Admission tickets are $15 online and $18 at the door for adults, $5 for children ages 3-12.
