HOUSTON—A speeding driver and his passenger were killed in an early morning crash Saturday.

It happened on Veterans Memorial at North Sam Houston Pkwy in northwest Harris County.
Police said around 5 a.m., a car was seen speeding in excess of 100 mph south on Veterans Memorial when it ran a red light and smashed into a Toyota SUV. The car then hit the concrete wall under the Beltway.
The car’s male driver and female passenger both died at the scene. An older gentleman in the Toyota SUV was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Veterans Memorial was shut down in both directions until the scene was cleared.
