Fort Hood, Texas
Gov. Rick Perry has also ordered all Texas flags lowered to half-staff until Sunday over the Fort Hood massacre that claimed 13 lives and left 30 hurt.
Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan is accused of the assault.
WASHINGTON – President Obama said he will attend a memorial service for those killed in the mass shooting at Fort Hood.
The White House said the service will be scheduled at the convenience of the families who lost loved ones.
Earlier today in the rose garden, the president had this to say to the nation.
"This morning, I met with FBI Director Mueller and the relevant agencies to discuss their ongoing investigation into what caused one individual to turn his gun onto fellow service men and women. We don’t know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts," said President Obama. "What we do know is that their families, friends and an entire nation are grieving right now for the valiant men and women who came under attack yesterday in one of the worst mass shootings ever to take place on an American military base."
The president has ordered flags at the White House and other federal agencies to be flown at half-staff until Veterans Day as a tribute to those who lost their lives.
