LEAGUE CITY, Texas — League City’s city council voted to suspend acting City Manager Rich Oller for one week without pay for using a racial slur at the workplace.
After a long closed-door executive session the council voted unanimously to suspend Oller. The suspension will take place at some point in within the next 30 days, said Councilman Dan Becker.
“Use of the N-word in a city facility, it’s just not acceptable by our policies and just common decency,” Councilman Andy Mann said.
Mann said he did not want to disparage Oller’s work. But use of the slur raised question of Oller’s ability to make proper decisions, Mann said.
