KATY, Texas – A Katy ISD teacher charged with sexual assault of a child has been ordered to stay away from all minors unless he's supervised.
Jason Lont, 35, made his first court appearance Wednesday morning. The judge also ordered him to avoid contact with the alleged victim and have limited access to the Internet.
Lont is charged with assaulting a 15-year-old boy he met on an app called Grinder, according to court documents.
The victim told Lont he was 16, according to investigators. He is not a Katy ISD student.
Katy ISD put Lont on administrative leave on Jan. 12 after learning about the investigation. The district said he’s been a theater teacher at Katy High School since 2005.
