HOUSTON -- In just 24 hours, four people were killed in three accidents in Houston. Police believe alcohol was a factor in all three crashes.

The first accident happened just after 10 p.m. Saturday at Hempstead Highway and Bingle.

Police said a driver in a Buick ran a red light and caused a three-vehicle accident.

A driver of one of the cars that was hit died.

Police believe the Buick driver was intoxicated.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, police said a white Cadillac was speeding at Bellaire and Larkwood when it collided with a Toyota Tundra.

A passenger in the Tundra was ejected and died at the hospital.

Officers said they were trying to pull the Cadillac over when the crash occurred.

Police believe the driver was intoxicated, and they said he tried to flee the scene.

Because of that, the driver could face a felony murder charge.

Then, around 4 a.m. Sunday, a pickup truck was traveling on Broadway when it crossed the median into oncoming traffic and smashed head-on into an SUV.

Two people in the SUV -- a man and a woman -- died at the scene.

Officers said they believe the pickup driver had been drinking.

All three accidents happened on a "no refusal" weekend.
