HOUSTON – A Houston woman was facing charges Tuesday after police say she struck a former high-school classmate in mouth with an unknown metal object.

Letisha Gribble Reeves, 30, is charged with aggravated assault.

According to court documents, the victim was at the Burlap Barrel Pub in Houston on December 21, 2011, when the alleged assault occurred.

The victim told investigators that she was sitting at the bar with a male friend when Reeves came up and told her to leave.

Reeves reportedly said if the victim left, they wouldn’t have any problems.

The victim said she ignored Reeves and didn’t think anything of what she said, because she hadn’t seen Reeves in more than eight years.

The victim said after a while, she got up to go to the restroom, and apparently Reeves followed her in there.

The victim said when she turned around, Reeves struck her in the mouth with a metal object and ran away.

The impact knocked the victim to the ground, and when she got up, she realized she was bleeding from the mouth.

The male friend took the victim to the ER, and doctors there said she had several chipped teeth and a loose tooth – injuries that would require surgery to repair.

Police said the victim and her male friend both identified Reeves as the attacker.

Charges were filed on February 13, 2012.
