HOUSTON—A store owner had a big mess to clean Monday after a highly-organized group of suspects smashed a pickup truck into a northwest Houston convenience store, grabbed an ATM machine and fled within minutes, according to Houston police.

Police said several suspects backed a stolen pickup truck into the Alba Food Store on Alba at W. 34th around 3:30 a.m.

The brazen suspects wrapped a chain around the metal burglar bar fence in the store’s front window and yanked the bars off the door. The suspects then smashed the pickup through the glass door and rushed inside. They loaded the ATM into the pickup and sped off.

Houston police found the pickup dumped a few blocks away, but the ATM was nowhere to be found.

Witnesses told police the suspects loaded the ATM into a dark-colored SUV and drove away.

The suspects are still on the loose, but police said the crime was captured on surveillance camera.

Police are continuing to investigate.  They said the same suspects may be responsible for other robberies in the area.
