HOUSTON—Investigators said five men were arrested Monday morning after a robbery-turned-police chase. According to investigators, an HPD unit was working security at the El Chaparral night club near Northwest Mall around 2 a.m. when he was flagged down by three people who said they’d been robbed. The victims told the officer they were held up in the parking lot by five gun-toting men. The officer put out a description of the suspects, and another HPD unit spotted the suspects’ SUV in a neighborhood near 18th Street. When the officer tried to pull the SUV over, police said the driver sped off. Police said the suspects pulled into a yard at Waltway and Corbin and fled on foot. Three of them were caught right away. A K-9 unit found the other two a little while later. Police said they confiscated the suspects’ weapons and found the victims’ wallets, purse, jewelry and money at the scene.
