FRIENDSWOOD, Texas — A Clear Brook High School teacher who was accused of making an insensitive comment about the death of Osama bin Laden to a Muslim student resigned Monday, district officials said.
The Clear Creek Independent School District last week placed the teacher on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of a personnel investigation after the student claimed he said to her, "I bet you’re grieving" in regard to bin Laden’s death on May 1.
The teacher will remain on leave without pay until his current contract expires at the end of the school year.
