HOUSTON – Police said a man and woman who were facing foreclosure were found dead in their home on Arncliffe near Antoine Monday, the apparent victims of a suicide pact.

Investigators said it was obvious the couple had been dead for more than a month.

Investigators did not publicly identify the couple but confirmed to 11 News that both were unemployed, had numerous bills they could not pay and were in the process of losing their home.

The man and the woman both left detailed suicide notes, a list of next-of-kin to contact and specific details on funeral arrangements, police said.

Police believe both agreed to the suicide pact, because the funeral details were extremely specific and written by the woman.

Although police did not indicate the manner of death, they said the man killed his wife, then himself.

Both were found in bed.

Police said the man was in his 40s, and the wife was in her 60s.

Neighbors said they had not seen the couple for more than a month and called police when they became suspicious.
