HOUSTON – Bush Airport made history Thursday with its first flight from Houston to Cuba.

About 80 people were onboard the flight, which was part of a private charter program allowing passengers to fly to Cuba for work or to visit family.

According to federal law, it’s still illegal to vacation there.

Last year, the Obama Administration eased travel restrictions to the communist country, allowing airports outside of Miami to accept flights to and from Cuba.
