HOUSTON—A babysitter is facing charges after police say he seriously injured an 11-month-old child.
Houston police were called to the scene in the 7900 block of Laura Koppe around 4 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators were told a baby boy suffered possible internal injuries while in the care of Jordan Thomas Harris.
Police said Harris was babysitting while the child’s family members were at work and school when the baby started crying.
Harris allegedly got angry and harmed the child. Investigators said he then called the baby’s family and lied to them about what happened. The baby was rushed to Texas Children’s Hospital. His condition was not known.
After questioning by homicide investigators, police said Harris confessed to hurting the baby.
Harris is facing charges of injury to a child – serious bodily injury.
The identity of the baby was not released.
