William Lipsky, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. William Lipsky is a board certified ophthalmologist who has specialized in refractive surgery for over 20 years. His experience includes Radial Keratotomy, PRK, Clear Lens (PRELEX) surgery and of course LASIK surgery. Dr. Lipsky has performed thousands of LASIK and PRK procedures and was previously named one of the VISX Star 100 (top 100 VISX surgeons in the country).
Dr. Lipsky opened Advanced Laser Vision & Surgical Institute in January of 2000. His facility is recognized as a premier refractive facility with state of the art equipment including the Star S4 Visx excimer Laser and the Intralase femtosecond laser for the all laser refractive surgery. His surgical expertise and outcomes have been used by VISX to demonstrate how effective LASIK can be in the hands of a skilled and experienced surgeon.
In 2001 Dr. Lipsky completed the second phase of Advanced Laser Vision with the addition of a Refractive Surgical Suite. This suite is designed for those more complex eye procedures including PRELEX (Presbyopic Lens Exchange), Cataract Surgery, and the new Phakic IOL implants for those who are very nearsighted. This suite encompasses new technological advances to ensure that the surgery is safe and secure.
Dr. Lipsky is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons. He received his Bachelor Degree from Cornell University and attended New York Medical College. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine before joining the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon. He later served as Chief of Ophthalmology at USPS Hospital (now Christus St. John Hospital) in the Clear Lake Area before opening his practice in 1981.
Dr. Lipsky and his wife Sharon have four children, and he is very active in his community and his synagogue. Dr. Lipsky's interests include sailing, swimming and this year he ran the Houston Marathon for the first time.

Our doctors at Advanced Laser Vision are refractive surgery specialists. Each doctor has expertise in different facets of refractive surgery to ensure quality care for our patients.
C. Robert Gibson, O.D., our Clinical Director, has worked with Dr. Lipsky and the doctors of Coastal Eye Associates for over 15 years. Dr. Gibson also has a private practice in League City at South Shore Eye Associates.
Lee Anne Collins, O.D. has been an Optometrist at Coastal Eye Associates since 2000 and has been associated with Advanced Laser Vision for 5 years. Dr. Collins also works at our affiliate office, Primary Eye Care, in Alvin.
Jung Choi, O.D., is our newest member at Advanced Laser Vision. Dr. Choi first joined us as an intern while attending the University of Houston School of Optometry. Dr. Choi joined Advanced Laser Vision in 2004 and also has a private practice at Friendswood Optical.
