The motivational TED Talks, known for going viral online, are coming to Sugar Land.
The Ismali Jamatkhana Center is hosting a TEDx event this Saturday, Aug. 27.
There are inventors, musicians and teachers all coming to share their big ideas in 18 minutes or less.
It may seem like a small stage, but it's a big shot at a viral trend sweeping the country.
"TED means technology, entertainment and design," said Naveed Lalani, one of the speakers.
Lalani has a unique journey to the stage.
"I grew up in Karachi, in Pakistan, around the age of 11 or 12 my family moved all of us here," he said.
Lalani's talk is about helping college students find the right career.
"I consistently hear them tell me they don't know what they want to do after they graduate," he said.
"Everyone at the end of the day can be an innovator, can have an interesting idea, can really go out of their way to bring something amazing to the table," said Josh Evans, TEDx Host.
It all starts with knowing your story and being ready to share it in forum known for taking it across the world.
"I think one of the things about the U.S., if you give it your best shot, you have a fair chance to really make it and do whatever you put your mind to," said Lalani.
