FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin — Jim Becker has beaten cancer twice.
While completing chemotherapy after his second diagnosis, he learned that his doctor’s son loved bagpipes.
At that moment, Becker created an unusual goal for himself: He had to get better so that he could play the bagpipes for his doctor and his doctor’s family.
Becker achieved his goal, playing the bagpipes in a performance for everyone, including hospital staff.
He told reporters, “I wanted to show my appreciation and gratitude for taking good care of me.”
