HOUSTON - The 75th Anniversary of the Oldest Home Tour will take place the first week of December.
The tour is scheduled for Friday, December 9, 2016 and Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Kappa Kappa Gama Charitable Foundation Holiday Pilgrimage 2016 will showcase the event.
Local florists are helping to transform the homes into holiday masterpieces.
This year, four homes will be on the tour, two in River Oaks and two in Tanglewood.
The homes in River Oaks are located at 1923 Olympia drive and 3405 Meadow Lake drive. The homes in Tanglewood are located at 819 Briar Ridge drive and 818 Briar Ridge drive.
Organizers say all of the homes are decorated exquisitely and one of the homes was decorated by famous architect, John F. Staub.
Organizers say the proceeds will benefit the following charities:
Amazing Place; Baylor College of Medicine; BEAR…Be a Resource for CPS Kids; The Brookwood Community; Camp For All; The Nehemiah Center; The Rose; Texas Heart Institute’s Center for Women’s Heart & Vascular Health; Trees of Hope; The Women’s Home; Yellowstone Academy; Houston Area Panhellenic Association Foundation, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma National Foundation.
Tickets to the tour are $20 and include admission to all four homes.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at Bering's Hardware, River Oaks Plant House, Cornelius and other local retailers, or on the day of the event at any of the tour homes.
