HOUSTON—A professional gator hunter captured an alligator Tuesday that’s been terrorizing a waterfront community in Seabrook.

The bad news is that the gator is one of two and, at 8-feet long, the smallest.

A 12-foot gator, which is suspected of eating someone’s pet dog, continues to elude capture.

Roger Speer witnessed the attack after the lab named Tyson went into the water.

"I kept throwing things at him to try to get him to stop, but he was focused on the dog," Speer said.

He said he watched the gator drag the dog under water several times before Tyson was able to break free.

Two men on jet skis saw what happened, picked Tyson up and brought him to the pier, but he couldn't be saved.

Since then, everyone from the game warden to animal control has tried to capture the creature.

Children have been warned not to feed the gators.

The gator hunter planned to go back to the area Wednesday to look for him.
