HOUSTON -- KHOU is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year! Channel 11 signed on the air on March 22, 1953, as KGUL-TV in Galveston. In June 1959, the station changed its call letters to KHOU and relocated to Houston.

Dan Rather and Ron Stone were the faces of KHOU 11 News back in the 1960s. Since then, many other nationally-known journalists have passed through our newsroom, including Jessica Savitch,  Linda Ellerbee and Jim Nantz. More recently, Dr. Neil Frank, Steve Smith, Sylvan Rodriguez and Lisa Foronda have carried on the KHOU traditions of strong journalism and community involvement.

Click on our slideshow to see some of the former faces of KHOU. How many do you remember?
