Homeland's Carrie Mathison is going domestic, as in battling threats back home in the United States.
Fans can get a look at Carrie's challenge in Season 6 of the Showtime thriller in a new trailer released Friday that features a foreboding new take on the Phil Collins hit, In the Air Tonight.
The new season, which is being filmed in New York, will focus on Carrie (Claire Danes), now back from Germany and living in Brooklyn, where she works for a foundation providing aid to Muslims living in the U.S. The action will take place between Election Day in November and the presidential inauguration in January.
According to the Showtime description, "It’s a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect."
Joining Danes on Homeland are Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham and Elizabeth Marvel. Guest stars include Hill Harper, Robert Knepper, Patrick Sabongui and Dominic Fumusa.
Homeland returns Jan. 15 at 9 ET/PT.
