Kate McKinnon may have won her first Emmy award Sunday night, but she certainly knew who to thank.
The Saturday Night Live cast member tearfully accepted the award for best supporting actress in a comedy series, choking back her tears to thank SNL chief Lorne Michaels as well as her fellow sketch comedy writers. She then thanked the two women who propelled her to fame — one of whom doesn't seem too miffed about her outrageous impersonations of her.
"Thank you, Ellen DeGeneres. Thank you, Hillary Clinton," McKinnon said as the audience laughed. She reiterated, "Thank you, Hillary Clinton."
The Democratic nominee for president heard her words and offered her congratulations on Twitter, complete with a GIF of McKinnon as Clinton.

McKinnon also thanked her mom, sister and her late father who encouraged her to begin watching SNL when she was just 12 years old.
Clinton has previously shown an appreciation for McKinnon's impressions, appearing on SNL as a bartender who opens an ear to McKinnon's Clinton during the primaries.
