Full Frontal's Samantha Bee is front-loading the inauguration with a second season of her TBS comedy satire, which is moving to a new night.
Bee, the former Daily Show correspondent who set out on her own with the weekly series last February, returns Dec. 5 (Mondays, 10:30 ET/PT) for a three-week pre-holiday run. But the new season, premiering Jan. 11, will surface on Wednesdays at 10:30 ET/PT, a night when Bee has aired a handful of specials.
"I am only sorry that this renewal leaves me unavailable for a cabinet position in the new administration," Bee snarked in a statement. "I will, however, be available to host the White House Correspondents Dinner, seeing as I already bought the dress."
Bee has been one of the more vocal comedic critics of President-elect Donald Trump, calling him a "two-bit used hate salesman" and a "melting hunk of uninformed apricot Jell-O" during the election campaign.
Frontal has won a loyal fan base among viewers and critics, eclipsing Comedy Central's Daily, now headed by Trevor Noah, in the ratings. TBS boasts the show averages 3.3 million viewers on various platforms and says it is one of the top 3 late-night series among young adults this fall. Same-day TV viewership has hovered around 800,000 for the past two weeks.
