Video of protesters disrupting Ryan Lochte on Dancing with the Stars

Protesters spurred a quick break from Dancing with Stars on its premiere night Monday.

Things took a surprise turn as judge Carrie Ann Inaba attempted to share her thoughts on Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke's performance.

As Inaba began to talk, screams from the audience could be heard and the judge said "excuse me" to someone off camera. The show then went into a quick break.

It was later revealed a group of protesters were among the crowd. An image taken outside the studio after the disruption showed two men wearing T-shirts with the word Lochte written across them and crossed out.

Fellow Olympic swimmer Ed Moses posted video to Instagram as a person was pinned down and escorted from the dance floor. A row of people wearing the anti-Lochte shirts could be seen in the back row, and they too were escorted from the studio.

When the show cut back to the dance floor, Lochte responded to the incident.

"I'm doing good," he said. "So many feelings are going through my head right now. A little hurt. I came out here and I wanted to do something I was completely uncomfortable with, and I did."

The Olympic swimmer found himself at the center of drama and criticism after an incident in which he alleged he was robbed at gunpoint while in Rio. Video later emerged that showed the man who pointed a gun at Lochte was actually a gas station employee. Brazilian authorities said Lochte and several other men damaged the gas station bathroom and urinated in public, which led to the incident.

In a later interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, Lochte said he "over-exaggerated that story."
