Good news: John Oliver just revived one of our favorite Daily Show gags. Bad news: It's because the 2016 election is falling apart.
Anthony Weiner thwarted Last Week Tonight's plans for a non-Trump-related show Sunday night by shoving his "Weiner" into the presidential race, thanks to the FBI's new review of Hillary Clinton's emails, discovered during a separate investigation of the former New York congressman.
And in honor of the occasion, Oliver reluctantly broke into his Carlos Danger dance, set to Danger by Mystikal. A dance that Daily Show viewers may recognize from Oliver's days with the show.
“I’m not having fun! You’re ruining my dance!" he joked.
But, as Oliver continued, Weiner's insertion into the 2016 elections isn't a laughing matter. "So, to recap: the grinding hell of this election has thrown in yet another twist — with the election hanging in the balance — all thanks to the fact that Anthony Weiner allegedly sexted with a 15-year-old girl,” he said.
He ends the segment by echoing a sentiment that many Americans following the election also feel: "Please let this thing be over soon!”
