HOUSTON -- Thousands lined the streets in downtown Houston Sunday morning for the 72nd annual Houston Rodeo Parade.

“Yee-haw,” said 4-year-old Brooklyn Fofter.
In the middle of all the tall buildings, floats and trail riders paraded through the area as they kicked off what’s become known as one of Houston’s most popular down-home celebrations.
“I love it, “said Ashley Fefie.  “I’ve been doing it my whole life. My mom still brings us out here so she’s with the grandkids now.”
Dressed in boots and hats, the festivities brought out the inner cowboy and cowgirl in many.
“I’m amazed at the number of people that are here today,” said Nell Normand.
Some say you have to experience the parade to understand why Southeast Texans continue to come back year after year. Many called it guaranteed fun for the entire family.
