Attendance record set on night Bruno Mars performs at RodeoHouston

HOUSTON -- The RodeoHouston BP Super Series IV, Round 2 performance featuring Bruno Mars in concert, Thursday, March 7, broke the all-time paid Rodeo attendance record with 75,175 fans.

RodeoHouston says the previous record was set in 2012 as Jason Aldean brought 74,901 to Reliant Stadium on Thursday, March 15, 2012 for the BP Super Series Semifinal 2 performance.

Mars made his first appearance on the RodeoHouston rotating stage Thursday night. With more than 45 million singles sold worldwide, he has taken the music world by storm since the release of his debut album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans,” in October 2010.

Here’s a list of the paid Rodeo attendance records:

  1. March 7, 2013: Bruno Mars with 75,175
  2. March 15, 2012: Jason Aldean with 74,901
  3. March 11, 2012: La Original Banda El Limon and Duelo with 74,588
  4. March 14, 2012: The Band Perry with 74,241
