Reports: Lady Gaga to perform at halftime of Super Bowl LI

HOUSTON - It seems it is more than just a rumor that Lady Gaga will be headlining the halftime show of Super Bowl LI here in Houston.

According to reports from US Weekly and Entertainment Tonight, the six-time Grammy winner has signed on to be front and center at the Super Bowl.

This comes a year after her killer rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner wowed the crowd last year at Super Bowl 50.

The NFL has still not confirmed the move.

The upcoming performance, assuming it is Lady Gaga, will come 13 years after Houston last hosted the Super Bowl. That was also the year of the infamous wardrobe malfunction when Justin Timberlake ripped Janet Jackson's top off, exposing her to millions around the world.

The performance set off a firestorm of attention and for years brought an end to pop-themed half time shows with producers choosing to go the more classic rock conservative route.

Many of us forget that this is the third Super Bowl Houston will be hosting in history.

The first was back in 1974, Super Bowl VIII at Rice Stadium.

The game pitted the Miami Dolphins and the Minnesota Vikings.

The star of that halftime show: The University of Texas Longhorn band which played a tribute to American Music titled, "A Musical America."
