Taylor Swift fans who attended her pre-Super Bowl concert in Houston on Saturday night may have seen her only show of the year.
The superstar musician announced to the crowd of 9,000 that she has no plans to tour in 2017: "As far as I know I'm only doing one show in 2017, and as far as I know, this is that show. By coming to this show tonight, you are attending 100% of this year’s tour dates.”
According to the Associated Press, Swift also made some references to football during her 90-minute DIRECTV NOW Super Saturday Night show at Club Nomadic, telling the crowd about her early country-turned-pop hit You Belong With Me, with lyrics about high school cheerleaders, bleachers and boys. She wore a sheer, short Versace dress and bangs.
Her set included pop smashes such as Shake It Off, Blank Space, Bad Blood, Style, We Are Never Getting Back Together, 22 and I Knew You Were Trouble.
"It's good to be in Houston, Texas tonight," she told the audience.
She didn't let up during her set, working the stage from left to right and rocking out during some numbers. "I swear you don't. You don't want it," Swift said after fans begged for the towel she used to wipe the sweat from her forehead.
According to AP, Swift also debuted a live, acoustic performance of I Don't Wanna Live Forever, her top-five duet with former One Direction member Zayn Malik from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
Because the audience went wild, she had to assure them that "He's definitely not (here)."
She slowed things down when performing songs she wrote for others, singing a soft version of This Is What You Came For, the EDM hit she wrote with former boyfriend Calvin Harris (Rihanna's vocals are on the original). Swift also sang Better Man, a recent No.1 country hit she wrote for Grammy-winning group Little Big Town.
Swift wasn't all work and no play in Houston. She took some time to post a video on Instagram of her cats, Meredith and Olivia, taking up seating space backstage.
