Garth Brooks tops 'Forbes' highest paid country music stars list

If tomorrow never comes, Garth Brooks will have still landed the number one spot on the Forbes list of highest paid country music artists for 2017.

Brooks' unusual touring style (he often plays multiple arena shows a day) helped him soar to the top, Forbes noted in their list, released Tuesday.

The singer, who is currently touring, says that's because arenas feel more personal.

"You just try to give the best show you can, try to make it as personal as you can, try to reach those people," Brooks told Forbes. "But it's easier to reach those people in an arena than a stadium."

Kenny Chesney scored the second spot, and Luke Bryan came in at number three. Dolly Parton, Toby Keith and Florida Georgia Line finished off the top five.
