Ed Sheeran's cool new gig? Member of the Order of the British Empire

Ed Sheeran is having a pretty Perfect Thursday.

Prince Charles made Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2017 an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) during an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace. The honor is reserved for those with outstanding accomplishments or who are of great service to their communities.

The Shape of You singer was given the award "for services to music and charity," Clarence House tweeted.

The account for the official residence of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also shared Sheeran's reaction to the honor, in which he remembered his late grandfather.

"... He died on this day four years ago," the artist reportedly said, "so it's actually quite a nice full circle thing, I guess he'd be pretty proud."

We bet he'd be v proud. Congrats!
