HOUSTON—Houston has some bragging rights when it comes Halloween attractions. According to the Houston Business Journal, "Nightmare on the Bayou" has been rated one of the country’s scariest haunted attractions of the year.

The attraction, located on I-10 near Studemont in the Heights, was ranked 13th on the list of 13 scariest attractions by Hauntworld Magazine.

The magazine editors say it’s because of its Hollywood quality props, animatronics, and dozens of well-trained actors.

The Bates Motel/Pennhurst Asylum in Philadelphia topped the list.

Austin’s House of Torment came in eighth place and the 13th Floor haunted house in San Antonio ranked number 12. Click here to see a Hauntworld Magazine’s complete list of scariest attractions.
