Magnolia, Texas
MAGNOLIA, Texas—A Jack in the Box restaurant was shut down for a day after several customers reported feeling a tingling sensation in their mouths after dining there.
It happened at the Magnolia location in Montgomery County on Nov. 12.
The company’s corporate office in San Diego was notified, and officials said all necessary steps were taken to get the business re-opened, including the disposal of all food products and complete cleaning of the restaurant.
The exact cause of the customers’ complaints was not known, but the health department director suspects a chemical product accidentally spilled in the fryer.
The store was set to re-open on Nov. 13.
