Gwyneth Paltrow calls the election results 'exciting'

While Gwyneth Paltrow isn't divulging who she voted for, she's not afraid of a Trump presidency.

Appearing at the Airbnb Open conference this weekend, the actress and goop founder discussed what she sees as an exciting time for American politics.

“It’s such an exciting time to be an American because we are at this amazing inflection point,” she said, via Page Six. “People are clearly tired of the status quo, and…it’s sort of like something threw it all in the air and we’re going to see how it all lands. It’s very important for me, personally, now more than ever, to create a community and to remember the humanity of everybody and to create love and…understanding.”

Paltrow also talked about how she's working on keeping an open mind. “The most amazing thing for me about this election is I felt … ‘I don’t understand the opposition well enough at all.’ I’m not going to tell you what side I’m on, but my big takeaway was, ‘I really need to open my mind and understand better because I don’t.'”

The actress was not among the many celebrities showing off an "I Voted" sticker on Election Day. However, Paltrow is a noted Barack Obama supporter, even hosting the president at her Los Angeles home for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in 2014, where she told Obama, "You're so handsome that I can’t speak properly.”

Paltrow's site goop declined to endorse a candidate, instead promoting a more general #OurVoteCounts initiative, teaming up with Rock the Vote to encourage women to register.
