HOUSTON -- The driver of a chuck wagon was injured when he flew out his wagon on Monday night at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
The fall happened around 8:30 p.m. The driver was taking part in the chuck wagon races that were happening before the Florida Georgia Line concert.
Rodeo announcers had to halt the race to prevent the horses from hitting the man as he laid on the ground.
Medics and veterinarians responded to the scene.
The rodeo later released this statement:
"During tonight's RodeoHouston chuck wagon races, a driver fell out of his wagon and was removed from the arena floor on a stretcher as a precaution. He is stable and has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
One of his horses also fell in the aftermath, but the horse was able to walk out the arena. Officials say the horse suffered a bruise.
