Benedict Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter are expecting baby No. 2

There's a new Cumberbatch on the way!

Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife, Sophie Hunter, are expecting their second child, USA TODAY can confirm.

"Everyone is absolutely thrilled," said Cumberatch's rep, Karon Maskill, in a statement.

The couple welcomed their first child, Christopher "Kit" Carlton, in June 2015. The baby news arrived during Cumberbatch's Marvel debut: On Thursday, the actor debuted his Dr. Strange at the film's world premiere in Los Angeles. Cumberbatch and Hunter posed together on the red carpet.

“Having a baby — it’s massive,” Cumberbatch told Vanity Fair during an interview for his November cover. “And on a very unexpected level. Suddenly I understood my parents much more profoundly than I ever had before.”

The Cumberbatch brood will likely boast a major vocabulary. On the set of Dr. Strange, "there were some word games we got dangerously obsessed by," Tilda Swinton told USA TODAY on Thursday's red carpet. "There was one take where I was supposed to be in the back of a shot, but I’m not in it because I missed my (cue) and I was doing WordBrain in the back with Chiwetel (Ejiofor)."

They weren't playing Words with Friends? “No, Words with Friends is an ongoing battle with Benedict Cumberbatch," she said with a grin.

E! News was first to report the pregnancy.
