Anna Faris breaks silence on Chris Pratt split: 'I made (mistakes)'

Her podcast may be called Unqualified, but Anna Faris was more than prepared to tackle a fan's relationship questions on this week's episode.

In her first solo public statement since jointly announcing her split with Chris Pratt on Aug.  7, Faris thanked her "dear listeners" on Monday's episode.

"I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I’ve been receiving, and I truly love you," she said.

Later in the episode, the actress answered a caller's question about their relationship, with a statement that seemed inspired by her recent experiences. "Life is too short to be in relationships where you feel this isn’t fully right or somebody doesn’t have your back, or somebody doesn’t fully value you,” she said. “Don’t be afraid to feel your independence if things aren’t right.”

“I made that mistake, I think, a little bit, like ‘I’m checking my relationship off the list,'" she continued. "If that would be the final piece of advice I could give you, that would be, 'Know your worth, know your independence.'"

Pratt, 38, and Faris, 40, announced they were legally separating in a joint statement posted to their social media accounts on Aug. 7, writing that they"tried hard for a very long time" and are "really disappointed." They have been married for eight years and have one child together, Jack, who will turn 5 in August.

In an Unqualified episode the week before their split, Faris opened up about her feelings of "solitude."

“I play a character on Mom, I play a character in movies, but I also play a public character,” she said. “There’s definitely a loneliness and, like, an internal element to being a performer."

On Sunday, Pratt appeared at the Teen Choice Awards, his first outing since the couple announced their separation. Accepting the surfboard for choice sci-fi movie actor at the Teen Choice Awards, he high-fived fans as he walked across the stage, sans wedding ring, People reports.
