Academy selects Oscar producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd

Producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd will team up in a major production: the Oscars telecast.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced on Friday that the three-time Oscar-nominated De Luca and the Emmy-nominated Todd will head up the 89th Academy Awards telecast on Feb. 26. The ceremony airs live on ABC (7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT) from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

"Mike and Jennifer have a great working relationship," Boone Isaacs said in a statement. "And (they) will surely draw from their vast experience to create an exceptional and unforgettable event for movie fans everywhere."

The producers' immediate duties will focus on finding an Oscar host. Last year comedian Chris Rock hosted amid the fallout of #OscarsSoWhite, a lineup of all white acting nominees.

The former president of production for Sony Pictures, De Luca is credited on more than 60 films, including Fifty Shades of Grey and Boogie Nights.  His best picture Oscar nominations were for producing Captain Phillips, Moneyball and The Social Network.

Todd, currently president of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production company Pearl Street Films, produced Affleck's upcoming film Live by Night and executive produced this year’s Jason Bourne. Todd earned an Emmy nomination for her work on the HBO movie If These Walls Could Talk 2.
