Malia Obama has been spotted working as a production assistant on an upcoming television series.

The Wrap, citing "an individual with knowledge of the production," said President Obama's daughter worked for a day last week in California on the set of Extant, a new science fiction series starring Halle Berry.

"She helped with computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take," said The Wrap's source.

The new series is a production of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios.

The White House declined to comment on the report.

Malia, who turns 16 on July 4, has reportedly expressed interest in becoming a filmmaker.
