SAN ANTONIO -- Miss Fiesta 2014 was crowned Thursday night under new rules. It's no longer a beauty pageant but more of a young woman's mission to give back to her community.

There were four young women on stage at the Palo Alto College but it was Sofia Campos who was crowned the new ambassador for Fiesta 2014.

Some of the new rules for Miss Fiesta are that the experience is part of an internship program and not a beauty contest. The young woman will work under the Fiesta Commission Charitable Foundation.

"We took it a step further and decided that [Miss Fiesta] should come up with a written project [and] implement it at the end," said John Melleky, CEO Fiesta San Antonio Commission.

Sofia Campos, created a project to  promote the beautification of San Antonio parks. She hopes to educate residents on how to keep San Antonio clean.

Fiesta 2014 starts April 10 and runs through April 27.
