HOUSTON – Comicpalooza is set to be a star-studded event Memorial Day Weekend after it was announced that legendary comic creator Stan Lee will be headlining the list of guests.
Lee joins the cast of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” at the pop culture convention, which has expanded to four full days of programming, panels, workshops and entertainment from Friday, May 23 to Monday, May 27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Lee's co-creations include Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, as well as hundreds of others. He currently remains chairman emeritus of Marvel, as well as a member of the editorial board of Marvel Comics.
Included in this year’s expansion is an Education Track for educators and students, and free admission to U.S. Military veterans on Memorial Day with valid proof of military service.
This year’s entertainment lineup includes international, national and many Texas favorites like Austin's own Samantha Inoue-Harte, Paul Maybury, Lana Marie, Claire Hamilton and Dallas-based Chris "Oz" Fulton.
Comcipalooza welcomes this year’s entertainment line-up: Billy Dee Williams (“The Empire Strikes Back”), Cary Elwes (“The Princess Bride,” “Psych”), Lou Ferrigno (“The Incredible Hulk”), Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek films and TV series), Erin Gray (“Buck Rogers in the 25thCentury,” “Silver Spoons,” “The Guild”), Tricia Helfer (“Killer Women,” “Battlestar Galactica”), Raphael Sbarge (“Once Upon a Time”), Ksenia Solo (“Lost Girl”), actress Rose McGowan, Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”) and Adam Irigoyen (“Shake It Up”).

Comicpalooza is the only convention in the U.S. to have four Doctors from “Doctor Who” TV series: Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor), Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor), Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor, The Hobbit), Paul McGann (the Eighth Doctor) with Capt. Jack Harkness himself John Barrowman (“Torchwood” and “Arrow”).
Five Power Rangers: Austin St. John (original Red Ranger and first leader of the Power Rangers), David Yost (Billy, the Blue Ranger), Walter E. Jones (Zach, the original Black Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha the Yellow Power Ranger) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park, the Black Ranger).
