HOUSTON--Fans of Vicente Fernandez know he’ll be performing at the Toyota Center this weekend, but he’s also in town for a procedure at an undisclosed hospital, according to his publicist.
The King of Ranchera music has confirmed that a growth in his liver was biopsied on Friday. It was expected to be a minor procedure, but if surgery is warranted, Fernandez will check into the hospital on Monday.
There are no plans to cancel his concert and his PR agency confirms that this is his farewell tour. Fernandez is 72-years-old and has said that he wants to retire while he still has a voice.
